Moses
was acquired from Salilyn kennels in the summer of 1971.
I had another springer that I was trying to finish without a lot of
success. One of my first outings with Moses was when he was 11 months
old that resulted in a Best in Match.
Shortly after that we went to the GLESSBA specialty show in March
of 1972, where he was BOW for a 5 point major, followed by another 5 point
major at the WESSA specialty show in May of 1972.
Needless to say it was quite a change from the dog I was previously
showing! I was young and
ambitious and Moses had the patience of a saint to put up with me! He finished quickly, and went on to win many breed and group
placements, including my first group 1.
I trained him through his CDX degree.
He was the father of my first homebred champion, Ch. Eldamar’s
Slapshot UD, and lived to 13 ½ years old.
